The Vesuvius has always been one of the symbols of the gulf of Naples, dominated by its 1281 meters. It’s also the only active volcano in continental Europe.
You will get to know in depth “the mountain”, as they call it here. Once on your four-wheel drive, you’ll go through the ancient Matrone road, an enchanting natural trail inside the Alto Tirone Reserve. In 25 minutes you’ll arrive at the operational base where the guides of the volcano-area are. They will lead you, on foot, along a lava trail and up to the top of this massive crater. From here, on the shoulders of the Lord of Naples, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the city and of the entire Gulf Coast, surrounded by vegetation and vineyards that smells of sulfur.
Lacryma Christi is produced here: it’s a fruity and aromatic wine that will be the protagonist of your well deserved lunch, based on local products, in a historic wine cellar located at the bottom of the volcano.
