This itinerary is a homage to the beauty of Cagliari. A walk through the history of an ancient city disputed and dominated over the centuries by Phoenicians, Vandals, Byzantines, Pisans, Genovese, Aragonese people and Catalans, Spanish and Piedmonts. These dominations have left their traces in the streets, in the buildings of the city and in the common language used by the same inhabitants.
First stop: the National Archeologic Museum. The collection of primitive artefacts shows up all the mystery concerning the origins of the Nuragica civilization, an anthropologic whole that cannot be still understood. Then, you will see the Tower of San Pancrazio, the highest one in the entire city. On the beautiful façade of the Santa Maria Cathedral, you will recognize the tribute to the Cathedral of Pisa. It is the most famous and visited monument of the city and it offers an amazing view of the Royal Palace, home of the viceroys of Aragon, Spain and Savoy.
Take comfort on the near neighbourhood of Marina, tasting the savoury selection of local typical products. It is a real earthly joy.
