You will leave your hotel by minivan to reach the Ragabo Refuge. From here, aboard your very own quad bike and accompanied by a guide, you will explore the natural beauty of Mt. Etna, one of the world’s highest (3350 metres) active volcanos.
From the Ragabo Refuge you will drive through a pine forest arriving to an area of hazelnut trees and vines that in 1923 was covered by volcanic magma and remained incandescent for 18 months. After admiring the beautiful coast, you will ride your quad and reach a breathtaking scene: a flowing lava cave, a cavity coloured by the mineral reaction of cooling lava. You will continue through the more recent history of the volcano touching the lava flows of recent eruptions. You will visit an extinct crater and ride along a lava flow.
After all that adrenaline, once back at the Refuge, you’ll be able to savour local dishes and enjoy real Etna wine…liquid fire!
